The Day I Chose Myself and Everything Changed
Why Your Glow Begins with One Brave Decision
There comes a moment in every woman's life where she realizes she can't wait for someone else to hand her peace, joy, or purpose. That moment came for me when I decided to stop dimming my light and start choosing me.
It wasn't an easy choice.
I had spent years putting other people and situations first. Especially the expectations of others. I was always the strong one, the helper, the encourager. But somewhere along the way, I stopped checking in with myself. I forgot what I needed.
And then one quiet day, it hit me:
Not just survive. Not just serve. But glow.
What Choosing Myself Looked Like:
- Saying no to what drained me.
- Letting go of guilt for wanting rest.
- Creating space for God to speak to me.
- Doing things I loved, even if I had to do them alone.
- Starting this little dream called Diani's Island Glow.
It wasn't about becoming someone new; it was about coming home to who I already was.
Maybe You're There Too?
Maybe you're feeling stretched thin, worn down, or like you've lost your spark. Can I gently remind you, glow sister:
You are allowed to start again.
You are allowed to make room for joy.
You are allowed to be loved, nurtured, and celebrated… even by yourself.
A Glow Challenge for You:
Take 15 minutes this week to do something that nourishes your soul. Light a candle, take a bath, walk in silence, or sip a mocktail with a journal beside you. Ask yourself:
"What would choosing myself look like today?"
You don't need anyone's permission to glow.
God already gave it to you.
With love and light,
Diana
